It rained all night, but today.....

Very hot again on our walk this morning, so we sat for a while and watched the geese slowly moving up river.

This Jack-in-the-pulpit is about 2 feet tall and has produced a nice fruit pod. It's green at the moment but will change to a bright red colour and will probably be eaten by birds. The plant is poisonous to humans but it was eaten by native indians after a long drying and cooking process to eliminate toxins.

It was hot today, really hot.... Spammy takes a break from the afternoon sun.

A rare but welcome appearance by Izzy this morning.... The wet weather is gone and it's a beautiful sunny morning, a bit cool though. In the little picture below left you can see how much the river has dropped overnight, about 12 to 24 iches I'd guess.
